ABOUT US - OUR STORY
‘WHAT YOU SEEK IS SEEKING YOU ‘….RUMI
Jonathan and Hayley Sieff had been looking for a bastide in the lush area of the Val de Rian for several years. One sunny afternoon, an unwanted and abandoned property was introduced to them whilst drinking a bottle of rosé at Club 55. Intrigued, Jonathan and Hayley found themselves running up a dusty road to a run-down, yet charming bastide surrounded by 26 hectares of mystical, abandoned land. They immediately fell in love, purchased the property and so their story at the Bastide des Bergettes began.
Since then the Sieff family has worked tirelessly to renovate Le Bastide des Bergettes, creating a spectacular yet comfortable family home that includes a potager, where they grow their own organic vegetables and an olive grove from which they are able to press a wonderful, peppery olive oil.
Throughout the renovation, Jonathan's dream and vision was to return the land to its original purpose, producing authentic, organic, and wholesome products. Through his passion and dedication, Jonathan has spent many years rejuvenating the neglected fields, rescuing the ancient cyprus, olive trees and citrus grove and giving a once abandoned vineyard, new life.
The organic soil found here at the vineyard of Rosé des Grands Pins has now been regenerated. Original roots have been replanted and rows of vibrant green leaves and rich succulent grape varieties such as Syrah and Grenache now flourish. Our newest vintage is available now.
The vineyard is pure proof that romantic idealism, when combined with determination and hard work, can make anything possible.
